were calculated on net acreage considerable allowances would have
to be made, but nevertheless, the difference between 112 persons
per acre, as in Islington, and the densities of the places mentioned
is so great that it is almost certain that they would hardly approach
this district when every allowance had been made.
If the density of the population of Islington be calculated on
its net area, it would be found to be 121 (actually 120-9) instead of
112 persons to the acre.

The following figures give the densities of the sub.districts as calculated on their gross and net acreage:—

These figures show that the densities of the districts are considerably
affected in South-west Islington and in Highbury.
