In regard to housing matters there is the formation of the Special
(Housing) Committee towards the end of 1918 to be recorded. Their work,
however, belongs to 1919.
I have once more to express my appreciation of the manner in which the
staff of the department have carried on the work amidst the difficulties caused
by war conditions. I would also like to offer my thanks to your Public
Health Committee for the support they have given me ; and to your Council
for the personal consideration they have always shown me.
