Report of the Medical Officer of Health.
OTHER ARTICLES.
72 "Other Articles" were submitted, two being taken with
the necessary formalities required by the Acts, and 70 being
obtained informally.

The following eight were reported against:-

Arrowroot100 per cent. Potato Flour.
Ground Almond*Containing a trace of Potato Flour.
Informal.
Ground Ginger Desiccated CoconutContaining some Parley grain. Containing a slight trace of Maize starch.
Arrowroot Ground Almonds . Self-raising FlourPotato starch.Containing a trace of Arrowroot.Containing excess of Calcium Sulphate in the Acid Calcium Phosphate employed in its manufacture.
Coffee and Chicory62 per cent. Chicory.

In conclusion, I have to report that the adulteration for the
year for all articles submitted amounted to 8.6 per cent.; for
articles submitted formally to 10.3 per cent,; and for those submitted
informally to 71 per cent.
