of the Medical Officer of health
for the Year 1916.
To the Mayor, Aldermen, and Councillors of the
Metropolitan Borough of Wandsworth.
Sir and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present the Annual Report on the health
and sanitary condition of the Borough for the year 1916. Considerable
alterations and deletions have again been made in the
Report for the year, but records have been kept so that reference
may be made at any future time if necessary.
Population.
The civil population of the Borough to the middle of 1916
has been estimated by the Registrar General to be 310,858 for
the purpose of calculating death rates and 338,220 for birth-rates.
Table I. shows the population of each sub-district based on
the above figures, compared with the Census population.
