The Slaughterhouses are subject to systematic inspection, in
addition to which they are constantly seen during the inspection
of unsound or diseased meat. The slaughterhouse belonging to
the Royal Arsenal Co-operative Society is the one most extensively
used in the Borough.

There was not a large amount of Ice Cream manufactured in
the Borough, due to the shortage of sugar, but an allowance of
sugar was granted to six ice cream makers. The list of ice
cream premises is still being maintained.
