HOSPITAL AND OTHER FORMS OF GRATUITOUS
MEDICAL RELIEF.
The Seamen's Hospital have admitted, treated and maintained
256 Greenwich persons for an average of twenty-eight days
each, in addition to which there have been 2,012 Out-patients,
making approximately 6036 attendances of persons belonging to the
Borough of Greenwich.
Miller General Hospital admitted, treated and maintained
359 Greenwich persons for an average of twenty-three days. 6,563
Out-patients have also been treated, the total attendances being
approximately 32,700.
Blackheath and Charlton Cottage Hospital admitted
268 In-patients from Greenwich, and treated 530 Out-patients
making 3,278 attendances for this purpose. Included in the number
of 530 were 214 Casualty cases.
POOR-LAW RELIEF.

SECTION 6.
LABORATORY WORK.
The long-standing arrangement with the Bacteriological
Department of the Seamen's Hospital has been in force throughout
the year, whereby that Institution carried out all necessary pathological
and bacteriological work for this Department, other than
under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, and in this connection
1,538 specimens have been examined for Diphtheria, 11 for Typhoid
Fever, 390 for Tuberculosis, and 38 for other various conditions.
