Slaughter-Houses. The slaughter-houses in the Borough
have been inspected on 32 occasions by the Inspectors.
Scavenging and Refuse Removal.—Serious complaints
continue to be received respecting the tipping of house refuse on
the low-lying marshes and waste land in the Borough. Steps have
been taken to obviate, as far as possible, the deposit of offensive
material, but even so the nuisance occasioned from flies breeding
in this refuse and migrating to surrounding properties is very great.
Eight hundred and six new ash receptacles have been provided,
and 17 complaints with reference to removal have been forwarded
to the Borough Engineer for his attention.
Horse Slaughterer. The one horse-slaughtering premises
in this Borough has been visited on nine occasions, and cleansing
of the premises required on four of the visits.
