MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE.
In April of last year I presented a report to the Public Health
Committee on the circular letter of the Local Government Board,
dated July, 1914, on the above subject (this report is given in the
appendix). The Committee, after careful consideration of the
whole subject, reported in July to the Council in favour of establishing
certain Infant Welfare Centres in the Borough.
Their recommendations, which were approved of by the
Borough Council, were as follows :—

suitable localities in the Borough.
(2) That two medical practitioners be temporarily
appointed for the purpose of the examination and treatment
of children attending the Centres.
(3) That four Health Visitors be temporarily appointed
for home visitation, &c.
