The total amount received during the year was £116 6s., being the sum
payable for 1,163 sets of baths which were given to children.

These baths were as under—

* 57 of these sets were commenced in 1915, and completed in 1916.
The average daily attendance of children at the baths throughout the year
was 15, ranging from 1 to 30 per day.
At the request of the Medical Officer of Health of the London County
Council, the homes of 721 children were visited and examined for verminous
conditions. Of these requests 410 were forwarded through the Islington
Cleansing Station, and 311 through Cleansing Stations outside the Borough.
In 67 cases notices were served on the parents of children, and in 71
cases on the owners of the houses; in 8 cases bedding and clothing were
removed for disinfection.
Copies of these 721 reports were duly forwarded to the London County
Council Education Department.

In 8 cases the London County Council instituted legal proceedings under Section 122 of the Children Act, 1908, and the prosecutions resulted in fines varying from 6s. to 10s. as follows:—
