BIRTHS.
Births, 7.537; Birth Rate, 23.15.—Of this number 133 births
occurred in districts outside the borough, which were transferred by the
Registrar-General to Islington, where the parents resided. The number of
births actually registered in the borough was 7,404, as contrasted with
8,0(i0 in the preceding year. The birth-rate, inclusive of the transferred
births, was 23.15 per 1,000 inhabitants, which is the actual birth-rate of the
borough. The rate arising from the births registered in the district was 22.74
per thousand, whilst the return in 1914 was 24.82. These figures are considerably
