Cancer.—To the different varieties of malignant disease were
attributed 217 deaths during 1911. This shows a decrease of
5 deaths upon the number registered during 1910. The annual
death-rate from cancer for the former year is .97 per 1,000 persons
living.
The deaths are distributed in the sub-districts in the following proportions:—

ALCOHOLISM.
During the year under consideration there was only 1 death
registered as due to acute alcoholic poisoning, but there were
