To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the
Metropolitan Borough of Battersea.
Gentlemen,
I beg to present the Annual Report on the Health and Sanitary
Condition of the Borough of Battersea for the year 1912.
In doing so it is my privilege to be able to state that Battersea
continues to maintain the high position it has attained as one of the
healthiest of the Metropolitan Boroughs.
The death and infantile mortality rates are the lowest ever
recorded in the Borough or the Old Parish of Battersea.
Although the incidence of infectious disease was slightly higher
than in 1911, it is satisfactory to be able to report that the death rate
from infectious diseases was the lowest recorded in the Borough
statistics.
The appointment of a female Workshop Inspector, although she
only commenced her duties in the latter half of the year, has been
fully justified.
In conclusion, I desire to express my thanks to the members
of the Council for the support extended to me. To the officials
also my thanks are due for assistance always willingly rendered.
G. QUIN LENNANE.
