Sanitary Condition oj Homes.
Twenty-three of these 1,045 homes were found to be very
dirty and 142 others showed evidence more or less of uncleanliness.
There is a continuous improvement, it is satisfactory to
report, in the sanitary condition of the homes as compared with
previous years.
As regards the child : health at birth :—
Of the 1,045 infants visited at their homes 243 were found to
be at the time of the first visit more or less seriously ill.
There were 53 twin births in the Borough, distributed as
follows:—East Battersea, 21; North-West Battersea, 17; SouthWest
Battersea, 15. Of the 53 twin births, in 18 instances the
twins were fed from the Council's Milk Dep6t.
