The population of the Metropolitan Borough of Deptford
at the census taken April, 1911, was 109,498.
The estimated population to the middle of the year 1912,
based on the results of the above census and that of 1901,
was 109,377.
The estimated population for each of the various wards
based on the results of the Census of 1901 and that of 1911, was

As the Borough has an area of 1563 acres, the density of
the population on this estimate is 70 per acre.

Taking the number of occupied houses for 1912 as set
forth in the above table, viz., 16,482, and supposing the
average number of persons per house to be 6'6, instead of 7 as
stated in the previous reports, the population would be about
