HOUSING OF THE WORKING CLASSES.
Sir Thomas Moke Buildings.
The Buildings have been fully occupied during the year. During the
year 25 tenants voluntarily terminated their tenancies, as against 30 in
1911, and two were given notice to quit, the same number as in 1911.
Vital Statistics.—Duriug 1912, J9 births (13 boys and 6 girls) were
registered as occurring in the Buildings, which is equivalent to a birthrate
of 24.8 per 1,000, the birth-rate of the Borough being 18.6. Ten
deaths of residents in the Buildings occurred during the year, equivalent
to a death-rate of 13'0 per 1,000, the death-rate of the Borough being 14.8

One case of scarlet fever and three cases of diphtheria were notified
in the Buildings during the year.
Pond House.
During the year Pond House was fully occupied. Eight tenants
voluntarily terminated their tenancies. Three births (one boy and two
girls) were registered during the year. There was no death. One case of
scarlet fever was notified in the year.
Onslow Dwellings.
The Dwellings were fully occupied during the year. Nine tenants
voluntarily terminated their tenancies, and three were given notice to
quit. During the year 6 births (2 boys and 4 girls) were registered and
4 deaths.
The deaths were Male, 82 years, cerebral haemorrhage; Male, 65
years, sclerosis of spinal cord ; Female, 72 years, abdominal cancer;
Female, 17 davs, premature birth.
There were no cases of notifiable infectious disease.
