Scarlet Fever.—This disease caused 2 deaths in 1912—one in North
Chelsea and one in South Chelsea. Both of the deaths occurred in
M.A.B. hospitals.
Diphtheria.—Four deaths were the result of Diphtheria in 1912—one
in North Chelsea and 3 in South Chelsea. Three of the deaths occurred
in hospital, and one at the patient's own home.

Whooping Cough.—This disease caused 14 deaths in 1912, as
compared with 10 in 1911. Five were deaths of infants under one year,
and 9 were between 2 and 5 years. Eight of the deaths occurred in
North Chelsea, aud 6 in South Chelsea.
Enteric Fever.—There was one death from enteric fever, of a man,
aged 23, the death occurring in St. George's Hospital.

Diarrhæa.—The deaths in Chelsea in 1912 from diarrhceal diseases
(diarrhoea and enteritis) were only 10 in number, as compared with
62 in 1911. Eight of the deaths were of infants under one year of age,
as compared with 45 in 1911; one was between 2 and 5 years of age, and
one was an aged person over 65 years. Seven of the deaths were of
North Chelsea residents, and 3 of South Chelsea.
