Zymotic Death-rate.—The death-rate in Chelsea from the seven
principal zymotic diseases was 0.8 per 1,000 in 1912, the corresponding
rate for London being 1.16. In 1911 the zymotic death-rate in Chelsea
was 1.65 per 1,000.

Small-pox.—There was no small-pox in Chelsea in 1912.
Measles.—This disease caused 21 deaths in 1912, as compared with
30 in 1911. Six deaths were registered in North Chelsea, and 15 in
South Chelsea. Two of the deaths were of infants under one year of age,
8 between one and 2 years, 9 between 2 and 5 years, and 2 between 5 and
15 years. Eight of the deaths occurred in the third quarter of the year,
and 12 in the fourth quarter.
