CLEANSING OF PERSONS ACT, 1907.
Applications were received from 7 persons for cleansing orders,
and 2 were later cleansed and their clothing freed from vermin
at the Casual Wards in Little Grays Inn Lane.
It will be remembered that in 1909 an arrangement was entered
into with the Holborn Board of Guardians to provide for the
cleansing of applicants under the above Act at a cost of six
shillings per person.
THE MORTUARIES.
These are two, and are situated at Warwick Place, off Whitecross
Street, and at 47, Northampton Road. There is a Coroner's
Court at each place and also a disinfecting station.

At the Warwick Place Mortuary 41 post-mortem examinations
were made; at Northampton Road 64 examinations.
THE SHELTER.
In connection with the disinfecting station at 47, Northampton
Road, there is a shelter to house families during the time their
rooms are being disinfected after infectious disease, and used
also for the isolation of suspicious cases of infectious disease or
small-pox contacts during the incubation period and before the
