plying with any of the provisions of this part of this Act or with
the requirements of any notice given under the provisions of
this part of this Act.
PUBLIC HEALTH (TUBERCULOSIS) REGULATIONS, 1909.
These regulations first came into operation on the 1st of
January, 1909, and it will be remembered that the object of the
regulations is to secure notification of all cases of Pulmonary
Tuberculosis to the Medical Officer of Health, brought to the
knowledge of the Poor Law Medical Officers, in order that suitable
measures may be taken by the local Authority on the advice
of their Medical Officer of Health, to prevent the spread of Pulmonary
Tuberculosis.
During the year in question 354 cases of Pulmonary Tuberculosis
were notified one or more times. The following tabie
shows the sex and ages of these cases:—

The number of notifications received in connection with
these 354 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis amounted to 749. This
is on an average rather more than two notifications to each case;
