Diarrhoea.—Diarrhoea was registered as the cause of 153 deaths
during 1908, and of these 102 were amongst infants under 1 year
of age. The total shows an increase of 66 upon the number during
the previous year. In addition there were 51 deaths from enteritis.
The death rate from diarrhoea is .65 per 1,000 living persons. The
mortality rate for London for the same period is .53 per 1,000
living persons.

Measles.—There were 71 deaths caused by measles in the
Borough during 1908. This is an increase of 13 on the number
occurring during the previous year. The mortality rate of this
disease for 1908 is .3 per 1,000 living, and that for all London .31
per 1,000 living.
