The Number of Persons living at different ages.— To arrive at
these figures it is necessary to refer to the census of 1901, at which time it was
found that there were:—
108 persons in every 1.000 of the population between o— 5 years of age.
185 „ „ ,, 5—15 „
199 „ „ „ 15—25 „
182 „ „ „ 25—35 „
130 „ „ „ 35—45 „
93 „ „ „ 45-55 „
60 „ „ „ 55—65 „
31 „ „ „ 65—75 „
12 „ „ „ 75 and upwards.
These were not always the proportions into which the population was
divided, for an analysis of the preceding two censuses show that a change has
been coming gradually over its age distribution.

This can be best seen by placing in juxtaposition the analyses of the last three enumerations of the people in Islington.

Here it is seen that at the age period 0—5 there has been a steady
decrease in the relative proportion of persons living at this age compared with
