SMALL-POX.
It is satisfactory to note that only one case of Small-pox was notified.
This occurred in Highbury, but was not indigenous to the Borough, as the
person who was attacked had only arrived within a few days from Bilbao,
where, without doubt, he contracted the disease. He was removed to hospital,
where he recovered. The patient had been vaccinated in infancy.
In the County of London there were only 31 cases notified, which
occurred in the following districts:- Paddington, Islington, Hackney, Bethnal
Green, Stepney, Poplar, Bermondsey, Chelsea and Deptford.
