ENTERIC FEVER.
Enteric Fever caused only 17 deaths, which is the lowest return hitherto
recorded, the previous minimum number having been 18 in 1904.
In the quinquennial period 1896-1890, the deaths averaged 52 per annum ;
in the five years 1891-95, 37 per annum; in the five years 1896-1900, 44; and
during the last five years 1901-1905 to 20 per annum.
This return shows that since sanitation was actively pursued in Islington
the mortality from this disease has steadily fallen.
The deaths occurred at the following age periods:—
