SMALL POX.
Only three cases of this disease were notified, of which one proved to be
a mistaken diagnosis. They occurred in the first quarter among some Italians
living at King's Cross. The return is the lowest since 1900 when 2 cases
were notified, and is 42 less than the average of the preceding 10 years.
In the County of London there were only 70 cases notified, of which
13 occurred in Camberwell and 13 in Stepney; 1 was known at Stoke
Newington; 4 in Hackney; 2 in Paddington and 2 in Westminster. The other
cases were notified from the Eastern and Southern districts.
