The number of workshops is given in detail for each trade; in
the case of factories the number of trades alone is indicated.
The figures for workshops in 1904, and for factory trades in
1908 are included for purposes of comparison.
The register of factories, though not a statutory requirement
was completed in 1908, and has proved extremely useful.
