In addition to the surrenders, a certain number of seizures of
articles, diseased, or unsound, or unwholesome, or unfit for food,
was made. In these, as also in doubtful cases, an examination was
carried out by the Medical Officer before the preliminary steps were
taken. The following details may be given regarding the cases
reported to the Public Health Committee after the articles had been
condemned by a Magistrate:—

As the above table shows, five prosecutions took place. Of these,
three referred to meat. The details of these cases are given
