Two cases were dismissed on the "warranty" defence, and in
two cases a purely technical flaw was discovered in the
proceedings, which resulted in the dismissal of the summonses.
One summons was withdrawn upon the magistrate's suggestion,
the offender at the time of the offence having suffered a domestic
bereavement and the offence being of a minor character. The
remaining thirteen summonses were withdrawn, being second
summonses taken out in respect of samples relating to which two
summonses were issued, a conviction being recorded on the first
summons.
