I would desire to thank the Public Health Committee and particularly its
Chairman, Alderman Smallwood, for the valuable assistance they have given,
both to myself and the staff, in carrying on the work of the department, which
at times is of a very arduous and thankless character, and to state that the
knowledge that they generally approved our actions has been a great support
to us in the discharge of our duties.
Finally I would desire to thank Mr. J. R. Leggatt, the Superintendent
and Chief Sanitary Inspector of the Public Health Department, and the
Sanitary Inspectors, as well as Mr. G. H. King, the Chief Clerk, and the
clerical staff, for the punctual and creditable manner in which they have
performed their work.
I am, Mr. Mayor, Aldermen and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
Medical Officer of Health.
Town Hall, Islington.
