During the year 296 houses let in lodgings, all in the Holborn Division, have been added to
the Register.
Other houses formerly on the Register have been closed for demolition during the year, and
some are now occupied by members of only one family.
The new bye-laws as to houses let in lodgings were finally confirmed by the Local Government
Board on the 21st August, 1903. lam very glad that the Local Government Board ultimately assented
to the omission of the exemption clause.
In my Annual Report last year, I gave full details respecting the correspondence and interview
with the Local Government Board.
