Comparing Greenwich with the other Metropolitan Boroughs
according to their corrected Death Rate, which is the fairest
method of comparison, shows that Greenwich has the lowest
Death Rate but four amongst the 29 Metropolitan Boroughs.
The four Boroughs having a better Death Rate than Greenwich
being Hampstead, Lewisham, Wandsworth and Stoke Newington.
Full particulars of all the Boroughs are to be found in the table in
Appendix. The Infantile Mortality Rate, measured by the number
of deaths under one year to 1,000 births registered, was 119, or a
decrease of 23 per 1,000 in the Borough, as compared with the figure
for 1904, comparing with 129, the figure for London as a whole,
and with 131, the Borough average during the last 5 years. The
Zymotic Death Rate of 1.21 per 1,000 is slightly below
the County average, viz., l.70 per 1,000, and is 1.02 per 1,000
below the corresponding figure for last year.

The figures relating to the different constituent parts of the Borough are as follows:—
