In each of these cases, except when otherwise desired by
the Medical Attendant, enquiries are made and literature and
personal advice bearing upon the subject are given to the patient,
or the patient's friends; it is hoped that in this way the public
are being gradually educated in the matter.
Sixteen specimens were forwarded by Medical Practitioners
for bacteriological investigation from patients suspected to be
consumptive, but all were reported on negatively.
Disinfection has been offered and carried out in 56 cases;
336 bottles of disinfectants have been supplied to disinfect the
sputum in these cases.
