Births.—During the year 1905 there were 5,873 births registered
in the Borough of Hackney; 3,041 males, and 2,832 females. This
shows a decline upon the number registered during the previous
year of 275 births. The birth rate for the year 1905 is 25.7 per
1,000 living persons. Below is given the number of births and
birth rate in the separate sub-districts of the Borough. The birth
rate for London during the same period is 27.1 per 1,000 living.
