The total Zymotic deaths included in table "D" form about
twelve and a quarter per cent. (12•2 exactly) of the deaths from
all causes. This proportion is identical with that of last year;
for though the actual Zymotic deaths have decreased by no fewer
than fifty, the general mortality has decreased equally, and the
proportion remains the same.
The death rate from these seven principal Zymotic diseases is
2•2 against 2•6 in 1902; whilst the corresponding Metropolitan
rates are 1•7 and 2•2.
Table “F" shews the percentage of deaths from each disease
as compared with the total number of Zymotic deaths.

NOTIFICATION OF INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
The total number of notification certificates received during
the year was 1,002; of these 70 were duplicates, a proportion of
nearly seven per cent. on the whole number. Four certificates
were forwarded to the Medical Officers of other Boroughs, as
they referred to persons who resided outside Bethnal Green.
