Report on the sanitary condition of the Hackney District for the year 1893

March.—During the first part of this month the temperature was
above the average, but during the latter part the weather was more
variable. The barometric pressure varied considerably, being below
the average from the 12th to the 17th, but above the average during
the remainder of the month. The amount of rain was .34 inches.
April.—This month was noted for its small rainfall being the
least for any month of the year. The amount registered .09 inches,
which fell on three days. The atmospheric pressure and mean temperature
for the month were both above the average, the latter was
53.5°.
May.—The weather this month was much warmer, the mean
temperature being 58.5. During the first half the atmospheric
pressure was above its average, but the latter half was characterised by
a low pressure. Rain fell on seven days, the total amount being .78
inches.
June.—The temperature this month was much above the average,
especially from the 15th to the 19th, the mean excess for these days
being 10.3°. During the early part of the month the barometric pressure
was generally above the average, but was below the average during
the remainder of the month. The amount of rain recorded was .77
inches, falling on eight days.
July.—The early part of this month was very warm, the weather
being fine, mean temperature 64.4°. Atmospheric pressure was above
the average throughout the month. Rain fell on 17 days, the total
amount being 2.05 inches.
August.—The weather was very warm, fine and dry, the average
temperature for the month being 66.9°. Atmospheric pressure was
very variable. Rain fell on 9 days; 1.51 inches being recorded.
September.—The weather generally was fine and dry, the mean
temperature being 58.7°. The barometric pressure oscillated a good
deal during the first half of the month; but during the latter half it
was below the average, the mean daily deficiency for the last 15 days
being 0.29 inches. Rain fell on 8 days, the total amount being .92
inches.
