NON-NOTIFIABLE DISEASES.
Influenza.—During the year 86 deaths were registered from this
disease. This is a decline in numbers upon the previous year. The
mortality per 1,000 is 0.35. Below is given a table showing the
number of deaths in each month during the last three years.

Of the 145 deaths, 108 occurred amongst children under one year, and
128 amongst those under five years old.
Measles.—This disease was not so fatal during 1893 as in 1892.
Fifty-six deaths were registered, the rate being 0.23 per 1,000
inhabitants.
