Note.—The Government have this Session introduced two Factories and
Workshops Bills, one to amend the existing law and the other to
consolidate legislation on the subject. (See Report to the Sanitary
Committee, 20th May, 1901.) There is now under consideration a
scheme for complete registration and periodical inspection of workshops
throughout the City. H.M. Inspectors have offered valuable
assistance in this matter which will greatly facilitate the work.—
