Deaths from Violence.
Of the City deaths, 7.44 per cent. were caused
by injuries or violence (as compared with 6.56 in
1899), being 0.29 above the average for the
previous five years.
The percentage of registered deaths from
violence in the Metropolis appears to have been
fairly constant during the above period, but the
percentage last year was 0.13 higher than the
average of the previous five years.
In the City of London, the ratio of deaths
from violence to deaths from all causes, which
had regularly diminished since 1894, rose to
7.44, being an increase of 0.88 per cent. over the
figures of 1899.
