Rota Committee.
A Rota Committee, consisting generally of three members of
the Committee, is appointed periodically to inspect the establishment,
and report generally upon any matters calling for attention.
Staff.
In accordance with the provisions of the Local Government
Act, 1894. the staff of the Baths became transferred to the Vestry,
under the Order of the Local Government Board, but several
changes have taken place in the period under review.
It was with regret that the Committee received the resignation
of the Moneytaker, Mr. J. Evans, in the early part of the year.
Mr. Evans had held his position since 1874, but for some
time past had sufferad from general infirmity and failing
health. At his request, the Vestry unanimously passed a resolution,
granting him a superannuation of twenty-three sixtieths
of his wages, but, unfortunately, owing to the death of Mr.
Evans, it has been unnecessary to proceed further in the matter.
In filling up the position of Moneytaker, the Committee, with
a view of effecting an improvement in the manner of carrying out
the duties, and diminishing somewhat the present hours of labour
of the female Moneytaker in the Laundry, have appointed two
young women, and the work of money taking has been apportioned
between the three.

The following is a Statement of the Accounts for the fifteen
months, ending 25th March, 1897, from which it will be seen
that the Baths are in a good financial position: —
