HOUSE REFUSE REMOVAL.
The Superintendent of Cleansing reports that
the refuse removed from the City in 1899
consisted of 29.577 cart-loads of street sweepings
and slop, and 45,044 loads of house and trade
refuse ; total, 74,621. Of this bulk, 22,481, loads
were consumed by the Destructor at Letts' Wharf.
