Accounts.
The accounts of the Board for the year are appended
hereto, they have been prepared in the same form as has
been adopted for many years, and having been checked by
Mr. T. P. Scrivener, the chartered accountant engaged by
the Board, they have been submitted to and passed by the
auditors, whose certificate will be found on page 44.
The comparative statement of income and expenditure
which was appended to the Annual Report for the year
1893 for the first time, was found of considerable use, and
the following statement of the expenditure of the two past
years has therefore been prepared. Particular attention is
directed to the items of expenditure over which the Board
has no control, which, it will be observed, form a very
considerable portion of the total amount which passed
through the Boards hands.
