Bye-Laws. Sects. 16, 39, and 50.
The London County Council have made Bye-laws under
Section 16 (2).
1. For prescribing the times for removal or carriage by
road or water of any faecal, or offensive or noxious matter or
liquid in or through London, and providing that the carriage
or vessel used shall be properly constructed and covered so
as to prevent the escape of any such matter or liquid and
as to prevent any nuisances arising therefrom.
2. As to the closing and filling up of cesspools and
privies.
3. As to the removal and disposal of refuse, and as to the
duties of the occupier of any premises in connection with
house-refuse so as to facilitate the removal of it by the
scavengers of the Sanitary Authority.
These Bye-laws have received the sanction of the Local
Government Board and are now enforced by your Board as
the Local Authority.
Bye-laws have been made by the Board of Works for the
St. Giles District, being the Sanitary Authority for the
said District under Section 16 (1).
1. For the prevention of nuisances arising from any
snow, ice, salt, dust, ashes, rubbish, offal, carrion, fish, or
filth, or other matter or thing in any street.
2. For preventing nuisances arising from any offensive
matter running out of any manufactory, brewery, slaughterhouse
or knacker's yard, butcher's or fishmonger's shop, or
dung-hill, into any uncovered place whether or not
surrounded by a wall or fence.
