Regulations as to Lodging-houses. Sect. 94.
The powers conferred on Vestries and District Boards
under the Sanitary Acts, 1866 and 1874, enabling them to
make regulations as to lodging-houses, are re-enacted in
section 94, sub-section 1, of the Public Health (London)Act,
1891.
Regulations confirmed by the Local Government Board
have been in force in this District since 1885, and have been
found to work satisfactorily.
At the present time 478 houses are registered, 389 are in
St. Giles-in-the-Fields, and 89 in St. George, Bloomsbury.
Section 94, sub-section 2, enacts that this section shall not apply to Common Lodging-houses within the Common Lodging-houses Act, 1851, or any Act amending the same.
