In the City of London it has been deemed
necessary to institute a prosecution in one case
only, although some of the articles examined
have been perilously near adulteration.
The goods supplied by retail traders in food
and drugs generally throughout the City are
fairly genuine.
The New River Company's water supply to
the City of London has been from time to time
examined, with the same satisfactory results
before reported.
I have again to acknowledge the assistance
rendered in this part of my duty by Mr.
Howard B. Turner, F.I.C., your Sanitary
Clerk.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
Wm. SEDGWICK SAUNDERS, M.D.
Fellow of the Chemical Society.
Fellow of the Institute of Chemistry of Great
Britain and Ireland.
Public Analyst for the City of London, etc.
