To the Chairman and Members of the Vestry of St. Mary, Islington.
Gentlemen,
In order rightly to understand the vital statistics of this, or any
other report dealing with them, it is absolutely essential that their
basis—which is the number of the population and its distribution—
should be clearly understood. At the recent census the population of
Islington was found to amount 319,143 persons, of whom 150,760 were
males, and 168,383 females.
The ages of these persons were as given in Table I.
