FOOD INSPECTION
Four prosecutions were instituted by the Vestry in respect
of unsound food which was seized by the Sanitary Inspectors
and condemned by the Magistrate and penalties amounting
in all to £33 14s. were imposed.
In one case, in which a firm was prosecuted for having sold
unsound food, the summons was dismissed on the ground that it was
possible that the meat which had been sold on Saturday evening, and
was brought to the Town Hall on Monday morning in an advanced
state of decomposition, might have been sound when sold.
