Scarlet Fever was the cause of 20 deaths, showing an
excess of 15 over those of 1892. The total number of cases
reported was 512 against 320 for the previous year. 214 of
these were removed to isolation hospitals. The mortality of
fatal cases, nearly 4 per cent., was higher than for the
previous year. This disease became epidemic in London in the
spring months , and continued to increase until the autumn,
when the maximum number of cases was reached. About
