From Table IV. we see that the number of births in the
Parish was 1,496, and that the birth-rate was 18.90 per
thousand per annum, as against 19.31 in 1892.
The birth-rate for London proper was 31.9, that of
greater London being 30.6, and that of the outer ring 29.6.
The average birth-rate of the 33 largest English towns
was 31.9, or exactly the same as that of 1892, the highest
being those of Gateshead, 36.5; Cardiff. 36.1; and Liverpool,
36.0; and the lowest those of Brighton, 25.4; Halifax, 24.6;
and Huddersfield, 23.8.
