Report on the sanitary condition of the Parish of Bermondsey for the year 1892

MR. SMITH, Leather Merchant, Maltby Street. —Drains
trapped, water-closets reconstructed and furnished with water and
apparatus for flushing, suitable urinal accommodation provided,
workshops repaved, cleansed and whitewashed.
MR. BRAY'S LAUNDRY, Providence Place, Crosby Row.—
Drains and water-closet reconstructed, water-closet furnished with
water supply and apparatus for flushing.
MESSRS. POTTER, Picklers, Hyson Road.—Additional watercloset
provided for women.
MESSRS. BOWRON BROS., Leather Manufacturers, Purbrook
Street.—Separate water-closet accommodation provided for women
(one), men's, water-closets reconstructed, urinal acoommodation
provided.
MESSRS. ARMFIELD, Leather Manufacturers, Bombay
Street. —Workshops drained direct into the public sewer, with
intercepting trap and ventilation, new water-closets erected with
stoneware glazed troughs and automatic flushing apparatus.
LONDON GALVANISED IRON CO., Druid Street.—Foul
and defective brick drains under workshops taken up, new stoneware
pipe drain laid connected direct with the public sewer, with
intercepting trap, inspection chamber, and means of ventilation,
old water-closets in workshops abolished, two new closets erected
furnished with pedestal washout pans and syphonic flushing
apparatus.
MESSRS. B. NOAKES & CO., Galvanised Iron Works, 142,
Spa Road. —Closed chamber constructed, coppers covered, effluvia
carried through and consumed in furnace, old water-closets
abolished and four new ones constructed, fitted with stoneware
troughs, automatic flushing apparatus, and partitions of stone glazed
bricks and efficiently ventilated.
MESSRS. MILES, DRUCE & CO., Galvanised Iron Works,
Long Lane. —Closed chamber constructed, coppers covered,
effluvia carried through and consumed in furnace.
