residual fluid diluted with 23 per cent. of water.
In addition to these adulterated samples nine other samples
were of " poor quality."
The Milk supply of the parish during the past year cannot be
called good.

BUTTER.

Fifty-three samples of Butter were submitted for examination, 12 of which (22.6 per cent) were found to be adulterated as follows:—

One sample was of poor quality.
RUM.
Of the six samples of Rum examined one was unduly diluted
with water, No. C/3 60, being 32 degrees under proof—seven
degrees more than the standard strength.
WHISKY.
Two (6 per cent.) of the 36 samples of whisky had been diluted
with water, No. C/2 48, being reduced to 27 degrees under proof,
and No. C/3 1, to 28 degrees under proof.
