ANNUAL REPORT TO THE MEDICAL OFFICER
OF HEALTH OF THE INSPECTOR OF
NUISANCES.
Sir,
In accordance with Para. 16, Article 20, of the
Sanitary Officers (Outside London) Order, 1910, I beg to
report as follows on the Sanitary Inspection of the
District for the year 1921.
Complaints.
During the year 212 complaints as to insanitary
conditions were received, and duly investigated.
Infectious Disease.
One hundred and eighty-seven inspections of premises
were made in connection with the investigation of notifiable
infectious disease. Disinfections were carried out
as follows:—

Housing Inspection.
From the following tables it will be noted that
many sanitary improvements have been carried out during
the year.
A list of all properties calling for more immediate
attention has been prepared and these are being dealt
with. Eighty eight such houses have been completely
inspected during the year, and full details recorded.
In addition 230 ordinary house inspections have
been made in connection with complaints, etc , received.
With few exceptions, little opposition has been met
with from owners of property, and it is pleasing to record
that in no case has it been found necessary to institute
legal proceedings to enforce compliance with any notice
served.
Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest
(Restriction) Act, 1920.
Six applications under the above were received
during the year. The premises were duly inspected, and
in each case a certificate was issued.
